Canby Chamber taps new leadership to lead way forward

Shatrine Krake is ready to take the helm of the Canby Chamber

The Canby Area Chamber of Commerce has chosen Shatrine Krake as its new executive director.

Krake has extensive experience in business development, community engagement, and organizational leadership, and will officially assume the new position on May 27.

The new director brings a strong background in tourism development, business advocacy, nonprofit leadership, and relationship-building to the new post. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a passion for helping businesses grow and thrive, fostering vibrant local economies, and creating lasting partnerships within the communities she serves, said a press release about the hire.

“We are thrilled to welcome Shatrine to the Canby Area Chamber,” said Dr. Ashley McFerron, board president of the Canby Area Chamber of Commerce. “Her deep understanding of the business community, strategic mindset, and commitment to collaboration make her an outstanding choice to lead the Chamber forward.”

Krake’s career includes leadership roles in both the private and nonprofit sectors, with a focus on organizational growth, operational excellence, and member engagement. She has a proven track record of increasing membership, building strategic partnerships, and delivering innovative programs that support business success, the release added.

“I’m truly honored to join the Canby Area Chamber of Commerce and excited to work alongside our members, partners, and community leaders to build on the Chamber’s strong legacy of leadership and service,” said Krake. “Canby is a vibrant, welcoming community with an inspiring future, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to support its continued growth and success.”

Krake succeeds Belinda Goody, who served the Chamber for more than two years. The Chamber’s Board of Directors shared their appreciation for Goody and her “dedicated service and commitment to the businesses in the Canby area.”
