Cascade Christian Writers (CCW) will hold its annual Summer Conference at the Canby Grove Conference Center in Canby June 22–25.
This highly anticipated event draws writers from across the country and beyond for a time of growth, inspiration, and connection.
The conference features coaching classes in the morning, one-hour workshops, and appointments with editors, agents, and mentors in the afternoon.
In all, there are 27 classes to choose from. The annual Cascade Awards Ceremony, which recognizes quality in various genres, will be held on the evening of June 24.
Best-selling authors Lindsay Franklin and Melanie Dobson will serve as keynoters. Additional teachers and agents include Sarah Sundin, Roseanna White, Rachel Kirsch, Tara Johnson, Karen Barnett, Shadia Hrichi, Sherri Langton, KyLee Woodley, Jane Daly, Sarah Brickens, Debbie Alsdorf (Books & Such), Nick Harrison (Word Serve Literary), Linda Glaz (Linda Glaz Literary), and Karen Neumair (Credo Communications).
Publishers represented include Elk Lake Publishing, Mountain Brook Ink, Kregal, Tyndale, Leafwood, Morgan James, and magazines including Vesper, Brio, Focus on the Family, Now, What? and Bible Advocate.
New this year is an optional two-day writing retreat immediately following the main conference. This retreat gives attendees a unique opportunity to deepen their craft in a quiet, focused setting with optional learning activities.
Attendees can also submit their work for a paid critique by an experienced professional and meet with that professional during the conference for personalized feedback.
Since its founding in 1963, Cascade Christian Writers (formerly Oregon Christian Writers) has remained dedicated to providing education in the craft and business of writing, facilitating connections with industry professionals, and cultivating teamwork among writers seeking to honor God through their work.
Although membership is not required to attend, CCW members receive benefits, including reduced pricing, monthly online gatherings, and access to small encouragement groups and critique groups.
